We would definitely recommend thinking about it from the very start. The system makes route management easier, improves clarity, and at the same time helps build a community around the gym.
CHYT Boulder is a bouldering centre operated as part of Sport Vitality in Bystřice nad Olší.
The climbing space opened to the public in September 2025 and is an entirely new addition to the sports complex. The centre offers over 90 boulders of varying difficulty and is designed for the general public – families with children, beginners, and experienced climbers alike, open every day including weekends. Beyond free climbing, it also offers organised training sessions and clubs for children, corporate team-building programmes, and school excursions with an instructor.
Why did you decide to launch the gym with a route-management system right away? You could have started without one…
We wanted to operate in a modern and clear way from the very beginning. The system helps us with route management, climber orientation, and motivating visitors to track their progress. At the same time, we wanted to offer something extra compared to the classic way of marking routes.
How did you choose ClimbLife? Did you look at other solutions too?
Yes, we looked at other systems and drew inspiration from other gyms. ClimbLife seemed the most clear, simple, and practical, both for climbers and for operations.
How did setting up the system before opening go – what took the most time and what was easier than you expected?
Uploading the sectors, routes, and the overall setup of the gym into the system took the most time. The work with the app itself, on the other hand, was easier than we expected, because the system is fairly intuitive.
How do climbers respond to the app? Do they use it actively, or do you have to promote it?
The reactions are mostly positive. Regular climbers in particular use the app actively to log their ascents and track their progress. But it is true that we promote the app all the time.
If you were advising someone who is only planning to open a gym – what would you tell them about a route-management system?
We would definitely recommend thinking about it from the very start. The system makes route management easier, improves clarity, and at the same time helps build a community around the gym.
